You might want to grab creams or ointments to reduce the itchiness or swelling. But why take the chemical route when you can easily beat the itchiness with the things lying around your house. Isn’t it?

Honey

This ingredient is probably one of the most common substances used as a part of a wide variety of home remedies. It’s because of its potent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

You can put a small drop of honey on your mosquito bite. It will lower down your temptation to itch the area around bug bite.

Ice Cubes

It is a well-known fact that cold temperatures reduce inflammation. It’s because it numbs the skin and gives immediate relief. You can apply the same procedure with your bug bites.

Apply a cold pack to relieve itching caused by a mosquito bite. Don’t leave ice on your bite for more than five minutes. Else it might damage your skin.

You can also cover the area with a washcloth and then apply crushed ice or a cold pack on the bite for a bit longer.

Aloe Vera

It’s a common house plant which caters to humans more than aesthetics. The gel produced by the plant is known for its incredible skincare benefits.

It is also popular as a home remedy to heal minor wounds or slow down infections. You can also use aloe vera where bed bug bites have red centers to heal the area quickly. Not only that, it will help calm the irritation and swelling as well.

Garlic

Garlic is a well-known ingredient that adds flavour to your dishes. Contrary to that, it is also popular for its health benefits for conditions like high blood pressure or heart ailments.

But that’s not all. You can use the same ingredient to get relief from the itchy mosquito bites. You need to mince the fresh garlic and mix it with coconut oil. It’s anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects will help you get the desired relief.

Before removing the mixture from your skin, let it sit for around 10 minutes. Use a cool washcloth to wipe it off. You can use the mixture again if you still feel itchy.

Try not to use the cut garlic straight to skin as it might get stingy or burning because of its highly potent action.

Chamomile Tea

Tea is known to rejuvenate your senses. But that’s only one of its numerous benefits. When used as a skincare ingredient, it is helpful to reduce inflammation, itchiness by speeding up the healing process.

You can use a teabag filled with dried and crushed tear flowers in water and place it in your refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Then remove excess water and apply it on the bug bite for about 10 minutes.
