The famous astronomical clock is a medieval clock you can’t afford to visit and view when in Prague. This clock is the most significant landmark of the town and has been there for over 600 years. Also, a ring for the zodiac and a calendar dial. Amazing right! The clock was engineered by clockmaker Mikulas of Kadan and astronomer Jan Šindel.
The clock has four figures around it representing vanity, greed, extravagance, and death. When the clock strikes the hour, the four figures start to dance: the vain man looks at the mirror, the skeleton shakes the hourly glass, the greedy man moves his bag and the extravagant man moves his head.
