I absolutely love and adore Peonies, in fact, they’re my favourite flowers! I don’t mind admitting that at the end of May/start of June I get very excited when I go to the shops because I may come home with a bouquet of these beauties. The peony ‘season’ is so short which is why I probably appreciate them so much more. They evoke such an extraordinary sense of calm and beauty…layers of secrets yet to be uncovered.
These luxurious flowers have a strongly feminine quality, each individual flower appears as a work of art, with layers of petals forming tight round buds that then unfurl to reveal ruffled blooms. They remind of my beloved Paris ♡
They’re so gorgeous and precious, aren’t they? Every time I look at them, I smile, feel happy and in love, after all, life is all about enjoying the simple things – right?
