Summer, it’s not you, it’s me. We’ve had lots of fun, and made some great memories. Yet I’ve decided that Autumn understands me better; crisp mornings, scented candles, comfort foods, snuggling up on the sofa, oversized sweaters, pots of tea and more – the list is endless! ♡

As Autumn sets in with its cold, grey mornings and the sun disappears a little bit earlier each day, beat the Autumn blues this season and take out time daily for ‘hygge’. Being a Scandinavian (Norwegian to be exact), Hygge is something that I am very familiar with and have been practising for years. . . “Tis the season to get cosy.” . . Hygge is the art of creating a warm and inviting space for friends and family to linger together, sharing in warm food, drink and conversations. Yet, it’s also the enjoyment one finds in curling up to a good book on the couch with a hot cup of tea. Join me on this ‘7 Days to Hygge’ Challenge and welcome the new season ♡ . . https://www.designthelifestyleyoudesire.com/7-days-to-hygge/ . . #inspiration #motivation #empowerment #PersonalDevelopment #Lifestyle #Abundance #DesignTheLifestyleYouDesire #growth #reflection #LifeCoach #gratitude #selflove #selfworth #success #mindset #goalsetting #selfgrowth #dailyinspiration #personalgrowth #BlissfulForties #Over40 #40s #TheMindfulLife #livebeautifully #theeverydayproject #liveauthentic #Hygge
Did I mention how much I love tea? I have a few favourites; Yorkshire Biscuit Tea, M&S Earl Grey and Cardamom Tea. This time I’ve been trying out a new flavour; Turmeric Loose Leaf Tea by Teatulia. As you probably know, turmeric has been a staple of South Asian cooking for thousands of years. Turmeric tea has been around for nearly as long, loved for its bright yellow-orange colour, rich flavour and health-giving properties.
I made my first cup on its own – as in just water with a spoon of honey. The aroma was amazing, the smell of turmeric is as lovely as turmeric essential oils. It was a very nourishing and comforting cup of tea.
My second cup I decided to make what some call Golden Milk. I put the tea along with my other ingredients into a saucepan and warmed for about 5 minutes. I then strained it off into a cup and served. Delicious and just as good as the normal way I make it. I’ll definitely be switching to making it with the tea from now on.
As I am currently fighting a cold, this tea has been my go-to tea to drink for a (hopefully) quick recovery.
I never thought I’d be someone who loves and adores the colder seasons; but as the air gets cooler and the days get shorter, I am reminded of your imminent return. The leaves are beginning to morph into beautiful shades of red, orange, and gold eagerly anticipating your arrival. A big smile fills my face when the first leaf of the season falls gracefully to the ground. That is all it takes for my heart to melt. One simple leaf can flood my memory of all the reasons that I love you ♡
