What inspires you?

My wife Anna, great friends, natural beauty.

I’m good at…

Reversing quite fast, connecting and including people, mischief, baking.

Finishing things, properly.

Who’s your favourite Style Icon?

I don’t have one. I love seeing friends/family etc pulling something stylish off, and that inspires me to up my game.

Most inspirational person you have met?

Maggie Doyne – I had breakfast with her at the DoLectures, which is the best place in the World to meet inspiring people.

What’s your favourite location?

The home I’ve built with my family. Prussia Cove Cornwall.

What is your background?

I’m a 5th generation baker, I grew up above the bakery where I work, Hobbs House Bakery in Chipping Sodbury.

Tell me about your book

It’s the best place to start if you want to bake bread with tried and tested recipes. I wrote it with my brother Henry, edited with a humungous amount of help from our sister Clemmie after over a decade of trailing recipes on bakery and cookery courses, with recipes my family have collected and perfected over nearly a century.

What are the highlights of your career thus far?

Real bread is on the rise and so with the growth in appetite for the work I do the last 15 years has been magnificent. With so very many highlights. 10 downing street visit, cooking for the London 2012 Paralympic launch party, winning young baker of the year, being part of a team at Tearfund that raised a million pounds to help prevent child trafficking, my son Milo baking me a loaf for my Birthday, Going in the Helicopter that was part of my granddads Guinness world record for the fastest ever loaf (age 4) has been hard to beat.

What are your goals for the next 5 years?

Get better at baking better bread. Make the world to be a better more peaceful place through baking.

What has been the most exciting collaboration you’ve worked on so far?

The Beer Bakery in Hoxton has been very exciting.

Get as much work experience as you can.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

People before property.

What is your most treasured posession?

My family [though I’m not possessive, I don’t own them] my health.

What is your must-have item for next season?

More family time.
