If you’re like me, the idea of getting away on a retreat sounds like heaven. Staying in rustic-luxe cottage, conversations with new friends, delicious food, and FINALLY, time to work on ourselves.

Years ago, I was introduced to the idea of a retreat like this. I didn’t have the finances to go at the time, but that’s when I made a decision. I decided to make my own retreat.

Living on the gorgeous countryside of Hertfordshire, surrounded by a river, a canal and nature reservoir – my home is the perfect place for my retreat.

Retreat

Giving myself time to reflect and heal is a powerful way to process the things that are happening in my life, and one of the best approaches to do this is by creating my own retreat.

As the February half-term is coming up, Khushi will be staying at her Grandma’s for the entire week which means I get our home to myself.

I have planned a retreat for myself from the 13th-15th of February. On Valentine’s Day, I have booked myself a SPA Day followed by dinner out – basically I am taking myself out on a date

During these 3 days, I will be reading through my notes and reflecting on ‘The Desire Map Workshop’ I attended 5 days ago including working my way through the ‘Style Your Mind’ workbook, working on my core desired feelings, de-cluttering my room and updating my vision board.

We all need a Retreat

  1. A retreat will recharge you. It’s your time to invest in your overall wellness.
  2. You will do things you’ve wanted to do for a while, but never got around to – in my case it’s reading and working through ‘Style Your Mind’
  3. You will grow as a person. This is your time to try new things and learn. On some of my retreats, I end up working through a personal development workbook, and that’s a good thing. Sometimes we get so busy we forget to invest in our personal growth. A retreat makes space for that. Whether your focus is finishing projects, adding some margin to read and learn, or just taking a breather and thinking through some of your goals, a retreat can bring you deeper clarity and help you greatly.

When it comes to creating a retreat, it’s crucial that you trust your intuition and select a path that really connects with what your soul needs most at the time.

Remember that a retreat is an intense period of time where serious soul searching takes place which can help you allow whatever may happen to you to fully unfold.
